Affirmation For Confidence You Can Live By

Affirmation for confidence

You or your children can appear to be very confident in-front of others but sometimes as humans, we don’t feel too great and confident in ourselves. Here are some words of encouragement or affirmation for confidence you can live by to get through those tough days.

What is self-confidence?

Confidence is the degree of which you are sure of yourself – in your abilities as well as your current and potential being. If you are a confident person, it means you are steadfast and self-assured in your thoughts, actions and decisions.

If you have confidence in something, it means you have studied and have a vast knowledge over a subject. If you have confidence in other people, organisations, facilities and so on, it means you trust and have had consistent experiences with them.

Walk into a room full of strangers and see if you can immediately start a conversation and start speaking with confidence. Doing that is a sign of confidence. If you can deliver a presentation and answer the questions or divert the questions without stuttering or be doubtful, that is also a sign of confidence.

Why Is it Useful to use Affirmation for Confidence?

Affirmation is an exercise you do by yourself or that you can do with your children to remind and re-affirm self-worth. Though some people go on with life without it, many of us gain a lot from this exercise. Just like how some students hardly need to revise text books before an exam but score A’s, many of us do the hard work and do multiple revisions, whether it be in study groups or notes, and then do well in the exams.

Self-affirmation for confidence is like revision, but to set your mind to believe in yourself. It is part of gaining better control over our minds. These are many ways affirmation for confidence can help you:

1. It prepares you mentally

What you think and believe about yourself from the inside is how you will look to others. Others will see you how you want them to see you and that usually starts with how you think and feel about yourself. Self-affirmation will prepare your mind.

2. It creates a perception of yourself that is limitless

In life, it is good to plunge ourselves into doing new and challenging things. With this, you need to be very brave and confident. You can do whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it. Affirmation for confidence can play a huge role while you are feeling helpless and nervous.

3. You become stronger

A confident person:

l Can persevere or push through hard or challenging times.

l Dares to try new things and accept failures if it happens.

l Takes action towards their life goals.

How to use Affirmation for Confidence

1. Pick a few affirmations for confidence that you feel the most relate-able to you or your child.

2. if you don’t relate to any affirmation for confidence but want to work on them for a better life, add “I choose to believe” at the beginning.

Example: “I choose to believe I can do this performance justice.”

3. Think about a past event in your life when you wish you had acted much differently had you had the confidence to do so. Now you know different, do not live in regret and take it as a learning.

4. When you are caught by surprise, mentally repeat an affirmation sentence to yourself, visualising and feeling it as well. It is one of the most powerful ways to practice affirmations, using them as a motto for confidence.

5. Take 5 minutes to journal about your chosen affirmation with this prompt: “how would my life be if I knew this to be true?”

6. Use affirmations to start your day and end your day. This prepares your mind to start and finish the day believing that you are confident.
